Liverpool Hope University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the North West of England. In 2019, we celebrated 175 years since the establishment of our founding colleges, which marked the beginning of our rich tradition of providing opportunities for a well-rounded education. Liverpool Hope University is distinctive. It is unlike any other university in the United Kingdom. Its work is shaped by Christian principles although it embraces those of all faiths and none. It values the individual, encouraging students to achieve the highest academic standards while becoming responsible citizens.

The University is the only fully ecumenical higher education institution in Europe, with nearly 7,500 students and around 700 staff. The University attracts students from more than 80 countries worldwide.
