Located in Upstate New York, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1824 as the first technological university in the English-speaking world. Rensselaer is a medium-sized, national research university with an undergraduate student population hailing from all 50 states and 60+ countries. Rensselaer offers degrees in five schools: Architecture; Engineering; Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; the Lally School of Management; and Science; and an interdisciplinary degree in Information Technology and Web Science.
